This is one of my favorite images. It is a 30 second exposure at the north end of Topsail Beach. Why would this make a great photograph? Its not some brilliant sunrise. The colors aren't exactly popping out. So why would you hang this on your wall? Because it captures a bigger, more everyday story. Over the course of the ocean's like, there are no waves. The weather isn't errupting in magnificent storms with fingers of lightening. This is a closer true story of the ocean because it gathers more than just one moment of time. The life of the ocean streches forever with only the slightest variations of different shades and hints of changing tones.
