Wilmington, North Carolina

Azalea Festival

The Azalea Festival is awesome, awesome that is when the wind isn't blowing thirty miles an hour! This year the Azalea Festival can only improve. A perennial favorite in south-eastern North Carolina, the Azalea festival has it all: music, food, performers, parades, and every kind of vendor you can imagine. So whether your thing is photography or jewelry or woodworking or (and this is true) a long-dead megalodon tooth you better get yourself to the Azalea Festival.

North Carolina
Blueberry Festival

Burgaw, North Carolina

North Carolina Blueberry Festival

Not yet Confirmed

The apple is never actually mentioned in the Garden of Eden story in Genesis. Early Christians actually speculated that it was a fig. Maybe they thought it figured. But what's also not mentioned in Genesis, but is true because I am telling you it is true, is the rows and rows and endless rows of blueberry bushes.

The Blueberry Festival is one of my favorites festivals not only because it is just down the road from my house but also because it showcases the greatest berry of them all. Move over strawberry, this is the Blueberry Festival!

June 24-25

Mocksville, North Carolina

Sunflower Extravaganza

Confirmed

This will be a "new-to-me" event. But who could want anything more than a show in a field of sunflowers!!

Autumn with Topsail is replete with music, food, and vendors. Whether intentional or not, small coastal town is the theme du jour.
